Service Description

After-School Tennis at St Paul’s School – Years 1 & 2 Monday’s tennis coaching sessions are designed especially for children in Years 1 and 2, offering a fun and active introduction to one of the world’s most enjoyable lifelong sports. Tennis is a fantastic activity for children as it helps develop coordination, balance, agility, and hand-eye coordination, while also building confidence and encouraging teamwork. Through fun games and engaging drills, children learn the fundamentals of tennis in a positive and supportive environment where the emphasis is always on participation, enjoyment, and learning through play. Regular tennis also helps children stay fit, active, and healthy, while supporting important areas of development such as concentration, problem-solving, and quick thinking. Tennis is often described as a sport that benefits both the body and the brain, helping children develop skills that support them both on and off the court. Another wonderful part of tennis is the social side of the game. Children quickly make new friends on court and learn the importance of sportsmanship, respect, and fair play. As they grow in confidence, they can also begin to enjoy playing doubles tennis, which is a particularly social and enjoyable part of the sport that many players continue to enjoy throughout their lives. The coaching team running the sessions are from Vicars Moor Lawn Tennis Club, one of the local tennis clubs located just off Sherbrook Gardens, N21. The club is home to many local families and hosts a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year, including junior social events, fun competitions, and seasonal gatherings. Parents and families are always welcome to join in the community atmosphere, so please keep an eye on the Tennis Rocks website for upcoming events: www.tennisrocks.co.uk Tennis is a sport that children can enjoy for a lifetime — whether playing for fun with friends, competing, or simply staying active and healthy. We are delighted to introduce children at St Paul’s to the game and hope it becomes something they continue to enjoy for many years to come.
